Wow, that was fast!!!

We got our 171-H approval in the mail on Wednesday. Our agency needs a copy of it to send over to Russia so that they know we are approved for international adoption. So we made a copy of it and got it notorized and then on Thursday I sent it to Topeka to get Apostilled. We got it back today!! 2 day turn around. That is pretty good for a government agency if you ask me!! We sent it snail mail too, no FedEx this time. I applaud you State of Kansas!

  1. I could research this but since I know you know I'll just ask you!
-What is the fee for getting documents Apostilled in Kansas?
-If you drive over to Topeka will they do it while you wait?
-Is there are an amount the stop charging you? Some other states stop at $150, or something.

  2. No problem!

The fee is $7.50 a document.
Yes, you can drive to Topeka and they will do it while you wait. Took about 45 minutes for us.
No, there is no cap. Kansas is broke! They eat you for every dollar they can get. See previous post http://thedensonsadoption.blogspot.com/2010/04/apostilles-done.html

Where at in KC are you moving to. We are in KCK.

  3. $7.50 is better than the $10 per document, no cap in Lincoln! Well currently we live in a little (very little) apartment in Lenexa. Our house in Lincoln just sold and we are going to start looking soon. Maybe Olathe or Overland Park. We need to get an address soon so we can start getting all our documents in order.
