Another Case...

Of abuse, this region was the go-to region for our agency.  Well back in November they "shut-down" to reorganize things, according to our agency.  They were going to start putting our referrals again in June, but this story surfaced.  Now they are investigating.  Hopefully with the agreement signed they will start moving along now.

See below for story

There is a whole lot more to this story, the original adoption is dissolved by the adoptive parents, and the girl was adopted by the mother's sister, and it was her husband who abused the girl.  So the people who abused her never went through any Russian requirements for adoption.  Sad that this is interfering with adoptions also.

  1. Awful, in so many ways. Kemerovo is very popular with our agency as well and I've herd they have had to cut way back also.

  2. Oh goodness, this is heartbreaking for so many reasons. I can't believe 16 is "beyond the age of consent" in Georgia. That's insane!

  3. :( Ugh! Awful and hate more for you to worry about. That is the thing I try to convey to others about international adoption, it's like always waiting for the other shoe to drop when everything is out of your control!

  4. One of our Bible study leaders mentioned an interesting end to her prayers: "Lord, please give me what I'm asking, or SOMETHING BETTER" because she said sometimes God says NO to a specific request cause He has something BETTER in mind. I'm seeing all the delays you are experiencing as God's something BETTER.
You continue in our prayers. Reine
